I Just looooove un-expected meals with friends and Alex Guadino!!!

Last Thursday, after a long, hot day of work....Im heading home to relax when I get a text from a good girlfriend of mine telling me to hurry up and get dressed because a limo would be picking me up outside of my appartment to take me out to Mezzo with herself, Renaldo (friend and co-owner of Boom Boom Room), and also the one and only ALEX GUADINO www.alexguadino.com, would be joining us!!!!! WHEW. Thank goodness I take like two seconds to to get ready....

A beautiful stretch limo picked me up around ten and we all headed out to Mezzo www.mezzo.ca  which is an amazing Italian restaurant located at 804 Erie in Windsor's "Little Italy". Now I've been to Italy before and ate in many outstanding places and the food at Mezzo and on many of the resto's on Erie definitely come close to or if not match the fine tastes I've experienced over there. Alex Guadino also happens to live in Italy a few miles outside of Milan and flew all the way here for Renaldo and his twin brother (co-owner alongside him), so that he could help them celebrate a spectacular birthday party at Boom....after we ate of course!!!

The foie gras and seared tuna was excellent but the real treat was the amazing crowd that was out that night. Being a Thursday it wasn't packed to the gills like usual but there was an enthusaistic crowd and Alex and the twins had a great time!!! So of course did I!!!!! He's a very intense yet fun person to watch and listen to. While we were eating, he waxed nostalgia about the days where he's travel to parties with record bags slung over his shoulders and milk-crates he would lug party to party.

It seemed as though although he embraces the technology that allows so many dj's to travel from venue to venue with all there music in the palm of their hands, he misses what true analog mixing used to bring to the scene. All in all I got a great impression from this man, he was kind and humble (till he started spinning then it got wild), and a pleasure to hang with!!!!
